Baubles, Bangles, & Beads: This group is for those interested in creating jewelry.  From a simple
strand to a fashion statement, learn to make the jewelry you love.  Participants share tools and
the cost of simple findings and stringing wire.  Projects vary each month.  Meetings are monthly
on the 4th Thursday.
(Sandy B, coordinator)

Beginner's Bridge
: This group is for those who need refreshing or are just beginning to play bridge.  The
Audrey Grant text will be followed for an active progression of learning.  We will read and follow this
method while learning to play bridge.  Meetings are weekly on Friday afternoons.

(Sue W, coordinator)

Book Club: This group is for those who love to read.  Several daytime and evening book clubs meet in
members' homes.  Dates and times vary.
(Sue W, coordinator)

Breakfast Club: This group of singles and couples meets at a different breakfast spot each month.
Meetings are held on the last Wednesday of the month.
(Stephanie P, coordinator)

Brunch and a Movie
: Feel like taking in a movie after meeting with friends?  Each month, we dine at a different
local restaurant then go to a local movie theater to watch the movie of our choosing with other newcomers. We
usually meet on the 4th Wednesday of each month.
(Phyllis M and Darlene F, coordinators)

Bunco: This is a great way to meet new friends, laugh and be silly.  The game is easy and very enjoyable!
Players meet at member's homes.  New groups are forming.
(Bev S, coordinator)

Chat-A-Wyle: All new and prospective members are invited to learn more about CNC in a small-group setting
by attending this activity.  We usually meet on the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 10:00am until 11:30am.
(Wndie C, coordinator)

Coffee Break:  Missing that morning chat with a friend? Here is your chance to meet up with some new
friends over a cup of coffee or other morning brew.

Attendees try some of the area's wide variety of
coffee shops where they'll have the opportunity to sit and converse before moving on to the day's activities.
Meetings are on the 3rd Monday of the month.
(Tammie Z, coordinator)

Creative Arts: Join us each month as we work on our favorite creative arts projects, including but
not limited to scrapbooking, stamping, cardmaking etc.  Share ideas as you work on your project.
(Looking for a new coordinator for this activity. Stephanie P, acting coordinator.)

Culinary Enthusiasts: Share your culinary enthusiasm and learn from each other and area merchants.  This group
usually meets on the 2nd Monday of each month but the date may change based on the needs of the business
hosting our event.

(Stephanie P, coordinator)

Culture Club: Interested is experiencing some of the area's fine arts, ballet, opera?  There's something for
everyone in the coming months.  Dates and times vary.
(Looking for a new coordinator for this activity.)

Discover North Carolina and Garden Club: Our activities are geared to help members experience the best of
North Carolina.  Most trips are all-day
outings and carpooling is available.
(Gesa A and Kate W, coordinators)

Game Night: Forming New Groups!  Members meet once a month in member homes for friendship and fun.  The
host/hostess selects the game for that month and players bring a snack to share and their own beverages.
(Vivian P, coordinator)

International Group: Imagine getting to know people from around the world. The Cary area draws a rich diversity
of residents and CNC is fortunate to have an array of international backgrounds represented.  Open to everyone
with special emphasis on those who have lived outside the US, participants usually meet in members' homes on
the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 11:30am to share food, beverages and traditions from around the world.
(Linda P, Alison B, Kate W, Beth D, coordinators)

Koffee Klatch
: Come join us for coffee and conversation as we get to know each other over light refreshments.
With no program, it‘s your chance to mingle and meet people with common interests.  No need to bring food…
Just bring your smile!!!  We usually meet at 10am on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at a member's home.

(Barb G, coordinator)

Lunch Bunch: Meet fellow newcomers for lunch at a restaurant in the Cary area.  This group meets on the 3rd
Thursday of each month at 11:30am.
(Alice D and Pat S, coordinator)

Mah-Jongg: Mah-Jongg is gaining popularity in the Triangle thanks to an influx of residents from areas where this
wonderful Chinese tile game has been played for decades. There are several Mah-Jongg groups at CNC and new
groups are constantly forming.  In addition, two open games are available every other week on Thursdays.
Western-style Mah-Jongg is played at 10am and Asian-style Mah-Jongg is played at 1pm.  Contact the coordinator
by email for info on location and to confirm attendance.

(Meg, coordinator.)

Mexican Train Dominoes: This fun and easy-to-learn tile game is catching on fast in the Cary area!  Join in and
learn!  Several groups have formed; dates and times vary.
(Eileen S, coordinator)

Scrabble: groups of 4-6 players are now forming for daytime and evening play.  Everyone that signs up
will be contacted.
(Looking for a new coordinator for this activity.)

Sports Enthusiasts: NC is a great place for spectator sports!  We have professional teams like the Carolina
Hurricanes (hockey) and the Carolina Railhawks (soccer) and minor league teams like the Durham Bulls (baseball)
and the Carolina Mudcats (baseball).  And, of course, we have lots of college teams including NC State Wolfpack,
UNC Tarheels, Duke Blue Devils, Wake Forest Demon Deacons, Shaw Bears and many others in a wide variety of
sports!  Group outings are scheduled throughout the year.
(Looking for a new coordinator for this activity.)
Stitch 'n' Tyme: Have fun, meet some very interesting women and find yourself in stitches. Join us for a fun time
of easy chatter while you work on a project that you have been meaning to get to.  Along with this chatter, we
stop long enough to munch on delicious snacks.  And best of all, we laugh a lot!  This group meets in members'
homes on the 3rd Friday of each month at 10am.  Bring your needlework project and join the fun!
(Mary Ann C, coordinator)

Volunteer Activities: While CNC is a social organization, many of our members enjoy getting to know each
other while giving back something to their community.  For opportunities to volunteer within the community,
ask any Executive Board member
at the next General Meeting or contact the Charity Committee.
(This coordinator & General Board member position is vacant; several members are sharing the
coordinator function at this time.  Contact our President for more info.
