Our Volunteers

We would not be able to enjoy all that Cary Newcomers Club has to offer without the help of
many member volunteers from our community. 
These member volunteers fill leadership positions
on the Executive Board, on the General Board, on sub-Committees and as Special Interest Group
chairpeople. 
The Executive Board and General Board leadership positions are listed below.


Our Executive Board


We have 7 Executive Board leadership positions. They are:

Each year, in February, nominations are requested and accepted for each of the Executive Board
positions. Members may nominate other members or may self-nominate. The Nominating Committee
also solicits nominations from the full membership to fill a slate of officers, which they present at
the April General Meeting. Elections are held during the May Business Meeting and the new Board
takes office after the Installation of Officers at the June General Meeting.

According to our By-Laws Article VI, Section 3, "... The officers shall perform the duties required
by these By-Laws and the Job Description Addendum and may hold a single position for a maximum
of two years, but may not serve as an elected officer for more than a total of three years.  At least
three of the Executive Board positions shall be filled by members who have not served on the
Executive Board previously."  This allows us to constantly have a fresh set of ideas available for the
smooth running and growth of the club.

Our General Board


The General Board consists of the Executive Board plus Chairpersons of the Standing Committees.
We have the following Standing Committee leadership positions (listed alphabetically):

     - Buddy Club Chairperson - Sandy M

     - Charity Committee Chairpersons - Nancy S  and  Lilla K

     - Hospitality Chairperson - OPEN, looking for a volunteer or a team of volunteers

     - Publicity Chairperson - Margaret C

     - Social Committee Chairpersons - Sue W

     - Special Interest Groups Chairperson - Chrysti P

     - Website - Angela F
    Note: each leadership position gets one vote no matter how many people share the responsibilities
